Eating is good but we must also be careful of what we eat. We should eat a certain amount of fruits and vegetables everyday. For example, we can eat like maybe 3/4 servings of vegetables in each meal. After that, we can have an apple or an orange etc.
Nowadays, children and adults love eating junk food, which means unhealthy food, like MacDonald, KFC, Pizza Hut etc. Of course, we can eat these things once in a while, but we cannot eat too much of them, as they will cause us to fall sick and grow unhealthier, like fatness.
We need to eat healthily because if we eat too much of unhealthy food, we can fall sick and have major diseases, such as cancer or heart problems. We can also grow fatter just by eating them, as most of such foods are oily and oil can make you grow fatter.
After researching, scientists have concluded that fruits and vegetables have beneficial vitamins. I have also done my part researching. I have found that vegetables contains a relatively high proportion of vitamins, provitamins, dietary minerals, fiber and carbohydrates. Many vegetables also contains photochemicals, which may have antioxidant, antibacterial, antifungal, antiviral and anticarcinogenic properties. I have also realised that fruits are generally high in fiber, water and Vitamin C. Fruits also contains photochemicals. Regular consumption of fruit is associated with reduced risks of cancer, cardiovascular disease, stroke, Alzheimer disease, cataracts, and some of the functional declines associated with aging.
I like eating fruits and vegetables, as they keep me healthy and strong. They also help me build up my immune system, which will be needed to fight against bacteria, so I won't fall sick immediately.
I support the school's campaign in encouraging pupils to eat more fruits and vegetables because this will encourage them to eat more fruits and vegetables, even though they do not like eating it. This will make them healthier too.
Our school can organise the "Fruitty Vegie Bites", which is a programme related with the MOE. This will make students to eat fruits and vegetables, was they would want their class to win the competition. Everytime they eat a serving of fruits or vegetables, they would be given a small little card. Each collected card will be given to the CIP monitor. The class who collected the most number of cards wins the competition in the level.
