Healthy Eating

Eating is good but we must also be careful of what we eat. We should eat a certain amount of fruits and vegetables everyday. For example, we can eat like maybe 3/4 servings of vegetables in each meal. After that, we can have an apple or an orange etc.
Nowadays, children and adults love eating junk food, which means unhealthy food, like MacDonald, KFC, Pizza Hut etc. Of course, we can eat these things once in a while, but we cannot eat too much of them, as they will cause us to fall sick and grow unhealthier, like fatness.
We need to eat healthily because if we eat too much of unhealthy food, we can fall sick and have major diseases, such as cancer or heart problems. We can also grow fatter just by eating them, as most of such foods are oily and oil can make you grow fatter.
After researching, scientists have concluded that fruits and vegetables have beneficial vitamins. I have also done my part researching. I have found that vegetables contains a relatively high proportion of vitamins, provitamins, dietary minerals, fiber and carbohydrates. Many vegetables also contains photochemicals, which may have antioxidant, antibacterial, antifungal, antiviral and anticarcinogenic properties. I have also realised that fruits are generally high in fiber, water and Vitamin C. Fruits also contains photochemicals. Regular consumption of fruit is associated with reduced risks of cancer, cardiovascular disease, stroke, Alzheimer disease, cataracts, and some of the functional declines associated with aging.
I like eating fruits and vegetables, as they keep me healthy and strong. They also help me build up my immune system, which will be needed to fight against bacteria, so I won't fall sick immediately.
I support the school's campaign in encouraging pupils to eat more fruits and vegetables because this will encourage them to eat more fruits and vegetables, even though they do not like eating it. This will make them healthier too.
Our school can organise the "Fruitty Vegie Bites", which is a programme related with the MOE. This will make students to eat fruits and vegetables, was they would want their class to win the competition. Everytime they eat a serving of fruits or vegetables, they would be given a small little card. Each collected card will be given to the CIP monitor. The class who collected the most number of cards wins the competition in the level.

Slient Reading!!!

Our school conducts silent reading every morning for pupils as they want pupils to have a good habit of reading. They told us that reading helps us a lot and as a student, I would like to cooperate with the teachers and I knew it is for my own good . I feel that this idea is very good, as I love reading, because reading books are interesting. I like reading both fiction and non-fiction types of books. I think it helps me to improve my English language and Chinese language, especially for my composition. I also think that reading can help me add words to my "vocabulary dictionary" so that I can score higher for my exams. Reading also helps me to build up my interest for different types of stories. The school can set up a reading program that wants pupils to read and also encourage them. They can also create a reading club to let pupils who enjoys reading spend more time in their hobby. They can even organise a reading competition that enquires pupils to summarise a book or a story they have read. My favourite book is "Remember me" which was written by Sophia Keinsella, as her book gave me ideas in my compositions .

Passion for learning

1. 'Passion for learning' means you have the interest towards learning and eager to learn more.

2. If a person does not have the passion for learning, he/she will not be able to learn better and will stop halfway through.

3. My best friend, Lim Ping

4. She does her work with enthusiasm and much effort is put in whatever she does.

5. Yes. It is the PSLE year and I want to get good PSLE results to get in a better school.

Target Setting

1. The purpose of setting target for the various subjects is to motivate ourselves to study for our exams.

2. I think it is useful, as I would want to achieve the target that I have set for myself.

3. I looked through my previous exam results and set a desirable target for myself, but of course, it must be achievable.

4. I am trying to study harder for the exams. I have a plan. I set up a home timetable for myself to revise my work and learn three new vocabulary words evey day.

5. They encourage me to do my best and reward me if I did well for my exams.

6. I would compare my results with my friend and if their results are better than mine, I will want to beat them with better results during the next exam.

7. They can have extra lessons with us to help us improve at the weaker area.

The December Holidays

Actually it was quite boring during the December Holidays.Although i have been back to China but it was only 27 days.Usually I stay in China for about 45 days but this time was different .During the holiday in china, i spent most of my time doing works given by my parents in China preparing for my (PSLE).I also went out with some of my old friend and visited many of my relatives, most of my relatives gave me pocket money to spent .I had collecteded a total amount of$1800 from them but my parents gave me none. When i just came back to Singapore i started tution. What did most of my time was studying ,i knew this was good to me but i don't like doing the same thing all the time. That's my December holiday , one word to describe'boring'.
